has gone bye bye

After almost 9 years of spending way too much time and money
promoting cutting edge art and literature, (winning accolades and
millions of hits on the way), the publisher and editor has depleted
his resources and reserves and has thrown in the towel.

To the hundreds of brilliant poets, writers and artists who filled
these pages, thank you and may you prosper, live long and enjoy
great rewards from your genius. To the few individuals over the
years who helped out with a few bucks or a few hours here and
there, thank you, may you also enjoy great rewards.

To all of the government agencies and corporations who surfed
Retort on a daily basis but never came forward to sponsor or
promote, fuck you very much.
